$5 million cash injection for young Aussie doctor duo

TWO young Australian doctors have secured $5 million and struck an agreement to sell their smartphone-based medical kit in stores across North America.

The CliniCloud kit -  a digital stethoscope and no-contact thermometer linked to a smartphone app - allows patients to send readings and vital signs to a connected doctor.

It's the brainchild of Melbourne doctors Hon Weng Chong, 27, and Andrew Lin, 26, who developed the idea while trying to improve the treatment of childhood pneumonia in developing countries.
