Is your practice ready for 1 November 2018? From that date, all practices undergoing accreditation will be required to meet a new set of practice standards from the RACGP.

Here are five key things you need to know about them.

1. Change in focus to outcomes

There have often been concerns among practices about the work demands involved in meeting the standards. So the RACGP has responded, saying it has shifted the focus from processes to outcomes.

According to Professor Glynn Kelly, acting chair of the RACGP practice standards expert committee, the new standards are aimed at encouraging quality improvements in general practice so that patients receive better services.
