CPD requirements waived in response to COVID-19 pandemic

A CPD amnesty will apply until at least the end of 2020 after the Medical Board of Australia announced doctors would be forgiven for not meeting registration requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The board is still encouraging doctors to do CPD but acknowledges this may be difficult with most conferences cancelled and many doctors being called up for extra work.
In an announcement on Monday, the board said no doctor would face repercussions for failing to meet CPD requirements for 2020 and that the amnesty could extend to 2021, depending on how the pandemic unfolded.
Interns will also have some rules relaxed.
