The US authors of a systematic review say dermatologists could reduce patient morbidity by following evidence-based practices, avoiding unnecessary investigations and medical overuse.

Ten articles published in eight major dermatology and medical journals from 2017 to 2018 were eligible for the review, with all but one of the studies being carried out in the US.
