Gabapentin doesn’t relieve chronic pelvic pain in women any better than a placebo, according to study findings that suggest the drug should not be used off-label for this indication.

UK researchers randomised 306 women aged 18-50 who had chronic pelvic pain for at least three months to take either gabapentin (titrated to a maximum dose of 2700mg daily) or placebo for 16 weeks.
