MS: Lumbar puncture may help predict worsening disability
High levels of IgG synthesis in the CSF are associated with a poorer prognosis

High levels of IgG synthesis in the CSF is associated with risk of disability worsening in patients with MS, according to a new study.
German researchers used data from 673 newly diagnosed patients in the German national MS cohort to investigate whether intrathecal IgG synthesis was associated with early disability worsening, as measured by Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) scores.
