New guidance on managing menopause after gynaecological cancer

Deciding whether it is safe to use hormonal therapy to manage menopause in women with gynaecological cancer should be done on an individual basis, taking the type of cancer into account, according to new guidance.
The working group of gynaecologists and oncologists, set up by the European Menopause and Andropause Society and the International Gynecologic Cancer Society, have published their findings in Maturitas.
Their conclusions on whether it is safe to use hormonal therapy are based on a literature review and expert consensus, but they caution there is a scarcity of data on the topic.
