One fifth of Aussie women with subfertility have isolated adenomyosis: study

One in five Australian women with subfertility have a diagnosis of isolated adenomyosis, a rate higher than in most other countries, UK doctors report.
The finding comes from the first systematic review of its kind, which suggests the overall global prevalence of the gynaecological condition among women with subfertility was 10%.
This rate varied substantially depending on the presence of endometriosis or fibroids, and by geographic location.
Australia had the highest prevalence of isolated adenomyosis while Asia had the lowest (19% vs 5%).
