RACP swears off computer-based exams after multiple failures

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians says it will not return to computer-based exams after IT problems stopped around 100 trainees starting their Basic Training Divisional Written Exam on time earlier this year.
It was the second computer exam failure to affect the college after a meltdown in 2018 forced the college to completely abandon the make-or-break exam.
Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) president Dr Jacqueline Small said this month that the college would now stick with pen-and-paper exams for the foreseeable future, in light of the multiple failures.
“I acknowledge that for many trainees and supervisors, the exam was a very distressing experience, and that reading this report may also be upsetting,” she said.
