What’s stopping male doctors from pursuing a career in obstetrics and gynaecology?

Should the gender of junior doctors applying to become RANZCOG trainees be blinded during parts of the selection process to limit any possible discrimination against male applicants?
There has been much discussion around the protracted fight by women in medicine to train, qualify and flourish across various male-dominated specialties, particularly the surgical ones.
But this gender equity debate — or rather, its inverse — has surfaced in obstetrics and gynaecology too.
Currently, just 15% of junior doctors applying for RANZCOG’s specialist training program are male.
