For patients with persistent, moderate to severe asthma, international guidelines recommend ICS and LABA combinations (dual therapy), ideally delivered from the same inhaler.

When symptoms remain uncontrolled despite this approach, triple therapy (ICS/LABA/LAMA) can be considered. Triple therapy is associated with better asthma control and fewer exacerbations in both asthma and COPD than dual therapy. This is recommended in the current GOLD and GINA guidelines and has been shown to be effective in several studies, including a recent meta-analysis.

In this case study we meet Nathan* who successfully steps up to a triple therapy regimen to manage his work-related asthma/COPD.
