More than half of people with type 2 diabetes and elevated HbA1c levels are not getting the treatment they need, new research suggests.

The Australian study looks at what might be driving delays to therapy escalation in patients failing to achieve HbA1c targets.

Published in DiabetesCare, the findings are based on data from the EXTEND45 study which looked at 2,456 people with T2D aged 45 and over whose blood glucose was higher than the recommended level.
