Jessie noticed lower abdominal pain and erythema 24 hours ago.</p><p>Over the past 12 hours, the redness has spread and pain has escalated to severe.</p><p>The dark area (circled) emerged four hours ago. Jessie’s BMI is 32mg/m2.</p><p>She has gestational hypertension, controlled with labetalol and diet-controlled gestational diabetes.</p><p>On examination, temperature is 38.5°C, heart rate is 120bpm, blood pressure is 110/75mm/Hg. The lower abdomen feels warm, indurated and minimally tender.</p>
