<p>Liam, a 25-year-old office worker, presents to ED in the early hours of New Year's Day with a painful swollen right cheek and jaw and associated trismus.</p><p>He is intoxicated with alcohol and cocaine, and is reluctant to give a detailed history but admits to being involved in an altercation with another reveller, who struck him in the face.</p><p>He denies any associated fall, loss of consciousness or throwing any punches himself.</p><p>There is no evidence of other sequelae or injuries on primary and secondary survey. A PA X-ray of the mandible is requested.</p>
