His mother first noticed a small lump at the site about four months ago, and it has slowly increased in size.</p><p>There has been no associated trauma, pain, fever, swallowing difficulty or recent infections.</p><p>Aiden has recently become bothered by the appearance of the lump and has started fidgeting with it.</p><p>He is typically well, with normal growth and milestones and no past history of note.</p><p>On examination, there is a ~2cm soft, cystic, non-tender mass with overlying erythema in the midline of the neck just below the hyoid bone.</p><p>This moves superiorly when Aiden swallows and when he protrudes his tongue.</p>
