<p>Jayde is a 34-year-old veterinary nurse who presents with green discolouration on her right middle fingernail.</p><p>She noticed this a week ago when the acrylic nail that had been in place came loose, after she caught it on a counter edge.</p><p>This was uncomfortable at the time, but the pain settled within 24 hours, and she now has no other associated symptoms.</p><p>Jayde has been having acrylic nails done for several months, in a bid to protect her nails from the effects of regular handwashing.</p><p>The rest of the current set remain in place, and she’s not sure if any other fingernails are affected. Her toenails are spared.</p><p>She is otherwise well, with no systemic features or rash, no past history of note, no regular medications, and no known allergies.</p><p>On examination, the only finding of note is pictured.</p>
