<p>Ali, a 64-year-old receptionist, presents complaining of sudden onset oral discomfort that developed one hour after having a hot microwaved cup of soup. </p><p>Ali is generally well, with well controlled hypertension and no other past history of note and takes candesartan 5mg daily as her only medication.</p><p>Examination shows a 3×3cm bullous haematoma on her soft palate (pictured).</p><p>She has experienced similar palatal lesions after meals, but none previously so large.</p><p>Usually these rupture after a few days, leaving an erosion which then heals completely. She denies similar lesions at any other location.</p><p>She recently had routine pathology which showed a normal FBC. Coagulation tests are requested and normal.</p>
