Terms and Conditions

Competitions – ‘Join our search for a hero’

The Promoters are Australian Doctor and Medical Observer of Australian Doctor Group, Level 2, 26-32 Pyrmont Bridge Road, Pyrmont NSW 2009 (Promoter). ABN 94 615 959 914.

Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of entry. Participation in the promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

All references to time in this document are a reference to the local time in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on the date stated.

Entry is open only to practising Australian general practitioners with a valid AHPRA number (Eligible Entrants) for both competitions. Australian Doctor Group reserves the right to request proof of identity, registration and current place of work. Australian Doctor Group employees (and their families) plus contributors are not eligible to enter.

The Promoter is not responsible for any lost, late or misdirected entries. The time of entry will be deemed to be the time the entry is received by the Promoter.

The prizes excludes all domestic taxes and insurance, which is the responsibility of the winner. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize.

Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.

Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash.

It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

Subject to complying with all relevant State and Territory legislation, the Promoter reserves the right to change, cancel or suspend the competition if an event beyond the control of the publisher corrupts or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition.

Any entrant who has tampered with the entry process or any other aspect of this competition will be disqualified.

The Promoter and its associates assume no responsibility for any error or delay related to the competition.

Any entrant found to be using any automated means whatsoever to submit multiple entries will be disqualified.

If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter has the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value, subject to State and Territory legislation.

The publisher does not exclude any rights and remedies in respect of goods or services under the Australian Consumer Law in the Competition and Consumer Act (2010) (Australian Consumer Law) which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. However, the remainder of this clause will apply to the fullest extent permitted by law and the publisher will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s.

All entries become the property of the Promoter. As a condition of entering this competition you acknowledge that Australian Doctor Group may contact you via email with information that may be relevant to you.

Game of Skill – ‘Your Practice Hero’ competition/ PART ONE

The promotion commences at 12:01am on 21 May 2018 and closes at 22nd June 2018 at 5pm.

To enter, Eligible Entrants must email [email protected] with their Nominations full name and a description of what makes them their practice hero.

The Nomination may be any person who works within the Eligible Entrants practice.

Entries are limited to one per Entrant and there is no word limit or restriction.

This promotion is a game of skill and the winner will be judged by the Australian Doctor editorial team for the most creative entry. Based on this criteria, the team will determine the most interesting and inspiring.

The result of this competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

There are three (3) prizes:

  1. $5,000 Flight Centre voucher will be awarded to the winning Eligible Entrant

  2. $5,000 Flight Centre voucher will be awarded to the winning Nominee

  3. $2,000 Good Food vouchers will be awarded to the winning Eligible Entrant

All winners will be notified by email and the names and other details relating to the winner/s will be published in either or both publications.  The winner and nominated hero will be asked to take part in an article for Australian Doctor which may include interviews, photographs and video at your practice.

The vouchers will be mailed or emailed to the winners address as stipulated in email correspondence and any activation codes sent upon receipt.

The prizes are subject to the terms and conditions imposed by Flight Centre and Good Food. Once awarded, the Promoter is not liable for any voucher that has been lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way.

Prizes will be awarded to the persons named in the entry.

Game of Chance – ‘Identify the Medical Heroes’ competition / PART TWO

The promotion commences at 12:01am on 21 May 2018 and closes at 3rd August 2018 at 5pm.

To enter, Eligible Entrants must fill in the required fields on www.australiandoctor.com.au/competition and input the correct first name and last name corresponding to the image and information that has been supplied in either Australian Doctor or Medical Observer.

Entry is limited to one entry per prize draw.

The result of the prize draws is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

There are thirteen (13) prizes of $250 VISA gift cards each.

There will be thirteen (13) prize draws of $250 VISA gift cards and all will take place at 10am on Monday 6th August 2018 at Level 2, 26-32 Pyrmont Bridge Road, Pyrmont NSW 2009.

All winners will be notified by email and the names and other details relating to the winners may be published in either or both publications. The VISA cards will be mailed to the winners address as stipulated in email correspondence.

Prizes will be awarded to the person named in the entry.

VISA cards are subject to the terms and conditions imposed by the VISA cards provider. Once awarded, the Promoter is not liable for any voucher that has been lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way.

The Promoter reserves the right to redraw in the event of an entrant being unable to satisfy these promotion terms and conditions or forfeiting or not claiming a prize. For each prize that remains unclaimed on 6 November 2018, a redraw will be held on 6 November 2018 at the same time and place as the original draw, subject to any direction given under applicable law. Any winners determined in accordance with this clause will be notified by email and on 6 November 2018.
