Measles cases have spiked globally in 2019. Preliminary WHO data shows that the number of cases reported in 2019 is up 300% compared with the same period in 2018.1
Australia has not been spared, with more cases reported locally in 2019 to date than all of 2018 (109 cases in January-April 2019, compared with 103 in 2018 January-December).2
