11 time-management tips for clinicians

IT seems almost everybody is time-poor these days. But clinicians face particular problems in time management, a new paper argues, due to the unpredictability and complexity of their workload.

Many health professionals are studying post-graduate courses, as well as working full time, and perhaps also managing a family.

In a bid to help, the authors suggest clinicians try the following:

1. Never rely on memory; set up reminders, use lists;

2. "Front-load" your work by putting the most important work early in the day and the week;
