Genetically modified (GM) foods were once kept under the radar. Apart from the odd fish that glowed in the dark, most modifications were made to drive away pests or lengthen growing seasons.
Now, it seems, GM food producers have gone on the front foot. A New Scientist feature in May discusses this in a cover story entitled ‘A new kind of superfood’.
