Binge eating linked to metabolic syndrome in men
A primary care study looked at 141 women and 49 men seeking treatment for obesity and bingeing, finding men were almost three times as likely as women to meet the criteria for the diagnosis of metabolic syndrome.
The researchers found few psychological differences between the genders.
Men were more likely to try strenuous exercise to combat obesity whereas women were more likely to try dieting, the researchers found.
