Children with disabilities harshly disciplined: study

There are an estimated 93 million children with disabilities worldwide, but 80% live in developing countries which attract the least amount of scholarly attention, researchers say.

Now US researchers have conducted the biggest study to date on disability and discipline, interviewing nearly 46,000 parents and caregivers of children aged 2–9 years in 17 low- to middle-income countries in Africa, Europe, the Caribbean and the Middle East.
