Christmas far from home
IT’S Murphy’s Law, says Tracey King, a senior flight nurse for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Broken Hill.
“There’s a huge amount of unpredictability in my job and it always happens: if you make your own plans, then you’ll always get called out to emergencies. If you’ve got nothing on, it will be quiet.”
And two Christmases ago, in 2009, this is exactly what happened. Ms King had been up bright and early Christmas morning with her nine-month-old baby and five-year-old son to see what Santa had brought.
