Doctor banned for lying about patient relationship

A PSYCHIATRIST has been banned from practising in Australia until 2017 for not disclosing his disqualification in New Zealand over a sexual relationship with a patient.

Dr Manilal Maharajh declared his right to practice had never been restricted or terminated by any healthcare organisation or complaints body worldwide when he applied for a job with Queensland Health in 2011.
