Doctor cleared of negligence over ‘sweaty palm’ surgery

Maria Morocz claimed she was not adequately warned that she was not a suitable candidate for the bilateral endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS) performed by Dr Marshman in February 2007.

Ms Morocz was 39 when she elected to have the procedure to treat her sweaty palms – a lifelong problem triggered by stress which she found inconvenient and embarrassing but not painful or disabling. 

In the NSW Supreme Court, Ms Morocz agreed Dr Marshman had explained the proposed procedure and possible complications
