Doctors second most trusted profession

The result for doctors is the highest score since the annual poll began in 1979. The telephone poll of 645 Australians over the age of 14 conducted last month asked respondents whether they rated a range of professions as “very high” or “high” in terms of ethics and honesty.

The results revealed a 5% bump for doctors, up to 88% from last year’s figure of 83%, which had placed the profession in third place behind nurses and pharmacists.

With an unchanged score from last year of 90%, nurses retained their place at the top of the rankings while pharmacists recorded a 4% slide to 84% in the latest poll.
