Forced alcohol rehab a 'success': NT

A 50-year-old man from a remote Aboriginal community, who had been taken into protective custody 81 times in the past year, has been successfully treated through mandatory alcohol rehabilitation, the NT Government claims.

In an attempt to justify its controversial laws allowing forced treatment of people apprehended for extreme drunkenness, Minister for Alcohol Rehabilitation Robyn Lambley has released four case studies of patients who have gone through its program.
