Good partnerships key for palliative care

A: Most people dying in the community are managed by their GP rather than specialist services. If more palliative care is to be provided in primary care, there is a need for a partnership between GPs and palliative care specialists. A systematic review in the UK has looked at the factors which support a good working partnership.

The reviewers found 22 papers which looked at collaborative partnerships in end-of-life care. Seven papers were from Australia and 13 were from the UK. These papers were analysed to find common themes.
