GPs wanted on pharma transparency

Submissions to the latest review of the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct can be made until 20 September.

The ACCC authorised the 17th edition of the code last year, but urged the industry to consider further transparency measures about how companies interact with healthcare professionals.

The Transparency Working Group has developed a Transparency Model — Consultation and Discussion Paper, which recommends disclosure of benefits to individuals.

Chief executive Dr Brendan Shaw said comments on any aspect of the code were welcome, not just transparency.
