Heart of Australia tops 6000 consults
The truck that takes cardiology services to rural and remote Australians has hosted more than 6000 consultations since the service began in October 2014.
The brainchild of Brisbane cardiologist Dr Rolf Gomes, the truck is now booked to be in remote Queensland towns every day between now and Christmas, including weekends.
Seven cardiologists do rotations on the truck, usually for two or three days a month, according to a spokesperson for the organisation, Dina Cavallucci.
