Hospital discharge perfunctory: public patients

The results of a survey of more than 35,000 people, released today by the Bureau of Health Information (BHI), report on the experiences of care of patients across 80 NSW public hospitals in 2013.

BHI chief executive Dr Jean-Frederic Levesque said patients tended to rate their interactions with hospital staff and the information they were given about their treatment highly but levels of satisfaction were lower in rating how well staff assisted and responded to individual needs.
