Listening still key to communication
To see how this has affected communications between GPs and patients, Dutch researchers reviewed recordings of old consultations.
There were 189 videotaped consultations involving patients with high blood pressure recorded in 1982–84 and 2000–01. The videotapes were rated by 108 current patients with hypertension.
