A decade on, the results of this leap of faith continue to provide entertaining and rewarding results for both the players and audiences alike.
“We have gone from strength to strength and while we have a core group of players we keep getting new ones as well, and medical students also joining – we are all getting better and having fun,” she says.
“I feel like it is my baby that I have been nurturing and is still growing up and developing.”
For many doctors who may have had to put aside their love of music to pursue a medical career, the orchestra provides an opportunity to get back in touch with a side of themselves that has, in many cases, lain dormant for years, she adds.
