‘Narcissistic’ GP found to be incompetent

The NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal found Dr Michael Quach, who practised in Sydney and the ACT, suffered from an impairment that detrimentally affected his ability to practise medicine.

The GP’s narcissistic personality disorder affected his ability to diagnose, create treatment regimes, relate appropriately to patients and peers, and otherwise conduct himself in a manner appropriate to standards of behaviour expected within the community of medical practitioners, the tribunal said.
