OAIC criticised for guidelines’ tone

In its submission to the OAIC, the AMA has objected to certain vocabulary and phrases used in the guidelines, including words such as ‘enforcement,’ ‘penalty’ and ‘regulation’, and has recommended the omission of the word ‘enforcement’ altogether.

“It sets the wrong tone and message for guidelines that are intended to facilitate the effective operation of the PCEHR system,” the submission said.
