OPINION How we can support doctors and their flooded communities
AN online blog by Anne Chater, the wife of Dr Bruce Chater – resident doctor in the flooded Queensland town of Theodore – shows it all in vivid detail.
The blog features a photo of the desk where Bruce probably would have been sitting writing out scripts in the days before Christmas.
Another photo shows the same desk a week later, with murky water now lapping at table height. There’s also an upturned chair submerged near it, and a folder of paper floating around the desk as if looking for a place to dock.
