The pitfalls of a paperless health system
MY DAUGHTER saw a travel doctor to get a yellow fever vaccine. She brought a letter from me that introduced her as my daughter and provided a summary of her vaccination history.
The travel doctor glimpsed at the correspondence, saw my name on the letterhead, and began his chatter.
“Oh, that Dr Rachootin, she’s a crazy one all right!” he said. “So how long have you been seeing her?”
“Well,” my daughter replied thoughtfully, “actually, from birth. She’s my mother.”
