Pro-euthanasia doctor wins fight with Medical Board

DYING with Dignity activist Dr Rodney Syme has defeated a medical board restriction over his use of Nembutal in assisted suicide.

On Tuesday, in what may be a landmark decision on assisted dying, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal agreed with Dr Syme that his practice of offering the barbiturate pentobarbital to palliative care patients was appropriate to ease their mental suffering.
