Rural GP guilty of misconduct over addictive drugs

A RURAL GP overburdened with patients, particularly after the death of a colleague, has been reprimanded for overprescribing.

Dr Glen Mobilia has been found guilty of professional misconduct and reprimanded by the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal for prescribing Schedule 8 and 4D drugs, including methadone, diazepam, oxycodone, fentanyl, buprenorphine and morphine, to patients he knew or should have known were drug dependent, and without proper authority.
