Searching for answers is acceptable
The survey was completed by 153 patients. Their ages ranged from under 18 to over 80 years.
A group of 54 GPs and 21 trainees also completed a survey. The survey asked what they thought the patients’ views would be if they had to look something up.
When no particular source of information was specified, 46% of patients said their confidence in their doctors would increase if they looked for information. Patients under 40 years old were more likely to say that their confidence would decrease.
