Snowball to head NRAS review
The review of the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS) will canvass the scheme’s future sustainability, scope, objectives and guiding principles.
The scheme, which began in mid-2010, was established by COAG to create uniform national standards.
It is being reviewed by the Australian Health Workforce Ministerial Council (AHWMC).
The NRAS subjects doctors to criminal history checks and mandatory reporting guidelines, as well as setting minimum standards for continuing professional development.
