If you’ve got a patient on your hands who caveats their smoking status with, “But I’m really just a social smoker!”, it may be time to hit them with the latest research.

The findings of a systematic review that pooled the results of 141 cohort studies around the world show social smokers are at far higher risk of cardiovascular disease than previously thought.
