Sometimes, if only briefly, we GPs feel like superheroes

I can’t be the only GP whose patients dress as superheroes.

Pint-sized ones, mainly. Some of the little pre-schoolers do indeed seem to be able to move about the room with the swiftness of Flash and destructive powers of the Hulk.

One little Spiderman—full gear, not just the T-shirt—asked me what super-power I’d like to have.

I thought about omnipotence, but figured it would have been cheating to pick all the powers. A bit like choosing the last of your three Genie wishes as being granted three more wishes.

It’s unsustainable.
