Speculation over MJA editor continues
In a statement last week the MJA board said the AMA had received correspondence containing comments that were “inaccurate, misleading, or simply wrong”.
“There have also been stories in the media, especially the medical press, that contain uninformed allegations and assumptions,” the statement said.
“The previous editor did not depart the MJA over matters of editorial independence.”
Australian Prescriber editor Dr John Dowden called for clarification, since the MJA’s circulation had increased under Dr Katelaris.
