Stepping Up program brings insulin initiation into general practice

Practice nurses can take a key role in providing insulin initiation as a part of routine diabetes care in general practice, a model of care trialled in Melbourne has shown.

The Stepping Up program developed by Melbourne University has been successfully implemented by nurses and GPs in a pilot program in five practices in Victoria.
