Sun protection ain’t a good look as a lip smacker

My first job was night duty paediatric registrar at Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children at Camperdown in Sydney. No exam to sit and I can’t remember an interview. I was two years out from medical school.

“You start at 9pm,” said the administration lady handing me my pager. “Meet in Emergency for a quick handover. You’ll be in charge of the hospital.” Someone walked by. “Hi, how you going?”

“Okay. I think. I hope.”
