Surgery chief issues bullying apology

RAMPANT bullying, discrimination and harassment by surgeons may be aimed mostly at women and foreign-born doctors, but the abuse has far-reaching effects on the health system, a hard-hitting report says.

The investigation commissioned by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) details abuse, toxic workplaces and a lack of trust in traditional complaints processes.

“The individuals who shared their stories have described the devastating impact this has had on their personal and professional lives,” RACS President
