Type 2 diabetes affecting young Australians

The first national figures for type 2 diabetes in young people show that the  condition now accounts for 17% of new diabetes cases among 10–19 year olds in Australia.

A report (https://aihw.gov.au/publication-detail/?id=60129546361&tab=2) released by the Australian Institute for Health and Welfare shows that in 2012 there were around 2,200 young people with type 2 diabetes in the 10-24 year age group.
