Wikipedia not just for schoolkids

Wikipedia is being cited as a reference in medical literature published in peer-reviewed, high-impact journals such as the BMJ, Nature and Science, even though anyone can edit Wikipedia entries at any time, a new study finds.

Nearly 1500 health-related papers in 1000 journals have Wikipedia citations, with most of these published in the past three years, the authors from the University of Ottawa in Canada found in their search of online databases such as PubMed.
